Indianapolis - This morning at 1:15 o'clock at her home on north Tacoma Avenue, Indianapolis occurred the death of Mrs. DP Heffner, after an illness of several months, death being caused by a malignant growth which developed during the last two years.  Fannie Graham Heffner was 56 years of age.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noble B. Graham and was born and the early part of her life spent in this city.  In 1882 she was married to DP Heffner, then a merchant of Hillsboro and they resided there for a number of years.  Later they removed to Veedersburg where Mr. Heffner was cashier of the Veedersburg bank and afterward they removed to Indianapolis where Mr. Heffner until the time of his death two years ago, was the claim man for the wholesale firm of Havens & Geddes, of Indianapolis.

Last December the affliction which finally caused the death of Mrs. Heffner, developed and she grew gradually worse until the end. Although everything that medical science knew was called upon in the hope of saving the life of the afflicted lady, there was no hope from the first and the Christian fortitude she displayed throughout her sickness was indicative of her strong character.  One child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Heffner which died in infancy. An adopted daughter, Miss Leota Heffner, now a young lady was with her mother during her illness and her devotion proved her strong character.

Mrs. Heffner is survived by her mother, Mrs. Nancy UC. Coons, five sisters, Mrs. JB Sidener, Mrs. RC Ross, Mrs. JE Evans, Mrs. GM Henderson, Mrs. AD Summer, Miss Mattie Coons and two brother, AL Coons and WE Coons.

The funeral will occur at the home at Indianapolis Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The body will be conveyed to Waynetown Monday morning and the burial will occur at the Waynetown Cemetery - kbz
